Build something meaningful.   We're not looking for someone to fill a seat. We're looking for a construction leader who wants to help shape a new market for a company that genuinely cares about its people. If you've built a career managing complex projects and developing strong teams, and you're ready for real ownership and autonomy, let's talk. WHY THIS ROLE IS DIFFERENT * True ownership: You'll lead operations in a growing market with the backing of a 40+ year company. * Growth trajectory: As Vancouver grows, so does your opportunity. * People-first culture: We promote from within. Many of our leaders started in the field or as PMs. We invest in our people because that's how we all succeed. * Impact: You'll mentor future leaders, build client relationships, and shape how Deacon is known in this market. WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO * Lead multiple projects from preconstruction through closeout—owning quality, safety, schedule, and financial performance * Build and lead your team: PMs, engineers, superintendents, and field crews * Develop lasting relationships with owners, architects, and trade partners, be the trusted face of Deacon * Partner with preconstruction and business development to pursue and win new work * Coach and develop your people—performance feedback, career growth, and building future leaders * Representing Deacon in the local community through industry involvement and relationship-building WHO YOU ARE * 15+ years of progressive construction experience—you've managed large, complex projects (multifamily, commercial, mixed-use) * You've built and led teams, not just managed tasks—you develop people * Strong technical chops: project controls, cost management, scheduling, risk assessment * Clients trust you. Subs respect you. Your reputation precedes you. * You know the Vancouver/Portland market (or you're ready to make it your home) * Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field WHAT WE OFFER * Competitive base salary: $150,000 - $195,000+, depending on experience * Performance-based incentives tied to project and company success * Full benefits: medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, life insurance * Vehicle allowance * A company that genuinely promotes from within and invests in your growth ABOUT DEACON Deacon Construction has been building for over 40 years. We specialize in Multifamily, Industrial, Retail, Commercial, Hospitality, and Senior Living across California, Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. But here's what sets us apart: we know each other. We celebrate wins together. We care about people—not just projects. Our Women's Resource Group, Deacon Charitable Foundation, and commitment to promoting from within aren't marketing—they're how we operate.
