Job Description:
At Landmark Construction, we leverage a vertically integrated process that combines strategic planning and partnerships with in-house development to deliver tailored results. Our approach ensures efficient project execution and proven success, making us the #1 General Contractor in student housing. The Senior Project Manager is the leader and manager of their respective projects and teams, including field and project management staff, to provide oversight for all phases of the construction project to ensure work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. This individual will delegate project management operations as well as more day-to-day functions to other project team members while maintaining overall responsibility for the success of the project. This individual will typically work on multiple projects simultaneously and must be able to work in a fast‐paced, multi‐task environment, balancing competing priorities and multiple project assignments. The Senior Project Manager may also be engaged in more global initiatives and strategies intended to continually improve and innovate Landmarks approach to development and construction. The Senior Project Manager will assist in delivering student housing & traditional multi-family projects, ranging from large acreage developments to mid to high-rise infill construction, with project values exceeding $150M.

Duties/Responsibilities: The duties listed below are an outline of the Senior Project Manager’s responsibilities and should not be considered an all-inclusive list. As the needs of the organization change, these duties may be modified as needed.

  • Build, mentor, lead, and develop multiple project teams and team members.
  • Lead and manage all aspects of a project including design constructability, design to budget, planning, scheduling, logistics, scope control, contract documents, cost control, etc.
  • Monitor all construction documents for appropriate construction details, completeness of information, potential design deficiencies, code violations, constructability, etc.
  • Understand all aspects of project related agreements and to ensure Landmark is protected and operates within the requirements of those agreements as it relates to construction activities.
  • Assure that project management team members and their supervisors know and understands their duties, responsibilities, and authority and how they relate to other team members.
  • Partner with and inform Trade Partners to ensure project specific information is communicated as it relates to the status of the schedule and financials of the project including preconstruction.
  • Ensure all schedules, progress reports, and executive reporting on costs, schedule, etc. are thorough, accurate, and archived.
  • Oversee the pay application process and that documents are promptly and properly handled.
  • Confirm project costs are properly controlled and forecasted, including buyout logs, change order logs, cost reports, etc., are up to date from initial buyout through final closeout and payment.
  • Oversee all closeouts including financial, punch list, prefinal and final inspections.
  • Ensure proper project turnover to Operations.
  • Develop direct reports by monitoring performance, reviewing evaluations, varying assignments, mentoring, providing training, and promoting a positive project morale.
  • Attend scheduled meetings as necessary.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in residential and mixed-use building construction.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Science, Architecture, Business Administration or relevant major preferred.
  • Scheduling & Job Cost software preferred (Primavera/P6, Microsoft Project, Procore, Prolog, etc.).
  • Minimum 5 years of direct supervisory experience.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, plans, and financial reports.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work, retain accuracy, and meet project deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail.
  • Capable of leading, training, and encouraging a staff of project management professionals.
  • Positive and collaborative attitude with strong interpersonal skills.
