Project Finance Specialist Australia-wide Opportunity At WSP, we’re looking for a capable and detail-oriented Project Finance Specialist to join our Finance team, partnering closely with project leaders to drive strong financial outcomes across a diverse portfolio of projects. The Opportunity This role plays a critical part in supporting project teams to deliver financially successful outcomes. You will provide both financial and operational support, ensuring project performance is tracked, understood, and optimised—while maintaining compliance with WSP standards and systems.   What You’ll Do You’ll work across a portfolio of projects, taking ownership of key project finance activities, including: * Deliver accurate day-to-day project accounting support across multiple projects * Monitor project costs, revenue recognition, and overall financial performance * Manage the full project accounting lifecycle in ERP—from budgets to invoicing and close-out * Partner with Project Managers on budgeting, forecasting, and financial decision-making * Support subcontractor set-up, procurement processes, and invoice validation * Oversee project billing and follow up on accounts receivable and payments * Identify risks, investigate variances, and escalate or resolve issues early * Interpret contract and commercial terms to ensure correct financial treatment * Contribute to clear communication of project financials to both financial and non-financial stakeholders * Produce regular financial reports and insights to support project outcomes   Success in This Role You will combine strong technical capability with the ability to influence and partner effectively with project teams. You will: * Maintain strong attention to detail across financial data and reporting * Translate project financial data into meaningful insight * Build credibility and trust with Project Managers and stakeholders * Influence decisions that improve profitability, cash flow and project performance * Use sound judgement to identify risks and recommend practical solutions * Take a proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement   About You You will bring: * Strong experience in Project Finance or similar, with exposure to ERP systems * Practical experience using Oracle Fusion ERP highly regarded * Solid understanding of project accounting principles and practices  * Strong Excel capability (including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis) * Analytical thinking and sound judgement in financial decision-making * Clear communication skills, with the ability to engage both financial and non-financial stakeholders  * A proactive, organised approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities * A relevant tertiary qualification (Commerce, Accounting, Finance or similar) is desirable.
