SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Project Superintendent, the Project Foreman is accountable for providing services to our clients that meet or exceed client expectations. The incumbent is to conduct all activities in a manner that supports the mission, vision and values of the Fort McKay Group of Companies LP.
This is a safety-sensitive position that requires completion of pre-employment/ pre- access testing.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of a High School Diploma, or a GED equivalent is required.
  • Retention of a valid class five (5) driver’s license is required
  • 3 year clean Drivers Abstract is required
  • At least 10+ years of experience in Mining Operations in a supervisory/leadership role is required.
  • CSTS and OSSA or BSO or CSO is required
  • Practical understanding of and well-developed skills in open pit mine operations.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including good oral, written communication, and listening skills
  • Must have strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Strong commitment to safety, including personal safety, safety of co-workers, and the protection of FMGOC and client’s property in accordance and compliance with company practices, industry standards, and government regulations.
  • Must be decisive and work well under pressure; particularly when faced with an unexpected occurrence or delay.
  • Focus oriented, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Ability to speak, write and read English is required
    This is a temporary full-time position located north of Fort McMurray, AB, on the Kearl Oil Sands Site.
    Work schedule is 14 on, 7 off / 13 hour shift.
    Camp and flights available from Edmonton and Calgary ONLY.
