SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Project General Foreman, the Project Foreman is responsible for the day to day activities for the operations of the assigned project. The incumbent is to conduct all activities in a manner that supports the mission, vision and values of the Fort McKay Group of Companies LP.
This is a safety-sensitive position that requires completion of pre-employment/pre-access testing
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Completion of a High School Diploma, or a GED equivalent is required.
- A valid Class 5 License (or equivalent) is required, along with a satisfactory 3-year Drivers Abstract
- CSTS (Construction Safety Training Systems) and CSO/BSO (Common Safety Orientation) is required. Ground Disturbance is an asset.
- Knowledge in MS Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook is required. Experience in SAP and/or Ceridian Dayforce is considered an asset.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in Mining and/or Project Operations in a supervisory/leadership role is required
- Practical understanding of and well-developed skills in open pit mine operations.
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and EWP (Engineering Work Package) drawings.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including good oral, written communication, and listening skills
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and multitask, as well as work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrates continuous learning through cross-training, learning new skills, and refreshing prior skills.
- Must have strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong commitment to safety, including personal safety, safety of co-workers, and the protection of FMGOC and client’s property in accordance and compliance with company practices, industry standards, and government regulations.
- Must be decisive and work well under pressure; particularly when faced with an unexpected occurrence or delay.
- Good time management skills
- Must be dependable and reliable
- Ability to speak, write and read English is required
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
This is a full time temporary position located north of Fort McMurray, AB, on the Kearl Oil Sands Site.
Work schedule is 14 days on, 7 days off; days and nights.
Camp and flights are available from Edmonton and Calgary ONLY.
