Description

We are hiring a Project Health & Safety Officer to oversee and implement health, safety, and environmental standards across our interior fit out project sites. The role involves developing OHS policies, conducting inspections, ensuring compliance with local legislation, and promoting a strong culture of safety within the workforce.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience as a Health & Safety Officer, ideally within the construction or interior fit out industry in UAE.
  • Knowledge of OHS legislation, codes of practice, and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of hazardous materials and workplace risks.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing reports, investigations, and safety audits.
  • Familiarity with safety management systems and data analysis for reporting.
  • Proficient in MS Office, working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus.
  • Detailed organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present and explain safety topics effectively to diverse teams.
  • BSc/BA in Safety Management, Engineering, or relevant field preferred.
  • Professional certification in Occupational Health & Safety is required.

    Responsibilities
    • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of OHS policies and programs.
    • Advise and instruct staff and subcontractors on various safety related topics.
    • Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventative measures.
    • Review, update, and implement safety policies in compliance with UAE legislation and international standards (OSHA/EPA).
    • Initiate and organise safety inductions and OHS training sessions for employees and site executives.
    • Inspect project sites, equipment, and personnel to identify safety issues or deviation.
    • Oversee safe installation, and disposal of substances, tools, and materials used on site.
    • Intervene to stop unsafe acts or processes that pose risks to health and safety.
    • Record and investigate workplace incidents and or accidents to determine root causes and to take corrective actions.
    • Prepare accurate reports and provide staistical information on safety performance for submission to project management.
    • Ensure all health and safety practices align with company objectives, client requirements, and statutory obligations.
