  • Prior field or remote work experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

ROLE:

Surerus Murphy Joint Venture (SMJV) is seeking a Project Human Resources Coordinator to join our field-based HR team. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, Projects, the Coordinator provides critical day-to-day support to project teams across a wide range of HR functions. This includes onboarding, employee relations, records management, and administrative coordination of HR programs and processes.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring our HR practices are aligned with project needs, internal policies, and our core values: Never Harm, Trust, Integrity, and Assured Delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the onboarding process at the project site, including document collection, orientation coordination, and employee file setup.
  • Assist with day-to-day HR administrative tasks including contract preparation, data entry, and maintaining accurate records in accordance with privacy requirements.
  • Provides recruitment support to Project Leaders, in collaboration with the Talent Acquisition team, job description development and advertisement, interviews, compensation recommendations, selection of candidates, and onboarding.
  • Executes site level onboarding, in collaboration with on-site payroll and the Health & Safety department.
  • Provide frontline support to employees and supervisors on general HR inquiries and escalate complex matters appropriately.
  • Coordinate HR program logistics such as training tracking, and engagement initiatives.
  • Support the administration of the Drug & Alcohol program in partnership with corporate HR.
  • Maintain confidential HR files and ensure compliance with internal documentation standards.
  • Liaise with internal departments including Payroll and Health & Safety to ensure smooth onboarding and employee transitions.
  • Support the tracking of employee movement, departures, and other workforce changes across the project.
  • Provides support to employees for general queries and workplace concerns.
  • Maintains professionalism and confidentiality, adhering to applicable privacy laws.
  • Assist with coordination of investigations and documentation as directed by senior HR staff.
  • Provide union coordination support including meeting logistics and document handling.
  • Contribute to a positive, respectful work environment by upholding SMJV’s HR values and expectations.
