At Uniting, we’re driven by our purpose to inspire people, enliven communities and confront injustice. Our services span supporting children, youth and families including, out of home care, disability, early learning, community support, and aged care reaching people when and where they need us most.
In this pivotal role, you will lead the design and delivery of innovative projects that drive service excellence, unlock new business opportunities, and bring our strategic vision to life. Working across teams and sectors, you will harness data, creativity, and collaboration to deliver measurable outcomes that improve lives and promote equity. If you are passionate about systems change, social innovation, and creating lasting impact, we invite you to join our team.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Business Development Manager and Head of Strategy & Business Development, this role leads cross-functional strategic projects within the Communities portfolio. The Business Development Hub is like an in-house consulting team that coordinates and supports teams to improve the delivery of impactful, people-centred services across NSW and the ACT. Based in North Parramatta, you’ll work in a hybrid model—minimum 3 days onsite, with flexibility for remote work. Occasional travel to our Sydney CBD office may be required.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead end-to-end project delivery aligned to Uniting’s strategic priorities from identifying new business opportunities, tender responses to implementation of new services
  • Define scope, objectives, success measures, and benefit realisation with stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Manage timelines, risks, and dependencies across multiple teams and functions.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and operational leads, frontline staff, SMEs, and external partners.
  • Apply Agile/hybrid methods to ensure outcomes are timely, scalable, and sustainable whether standing up a new mental health service or upgrading internal reporting tools.
  • Ensure alignment with organisational governance, risk and compliance frameworks.
  • Provide regular reporting and contribute to post-implementation reviews and learnings.
  • Coach and support teams across the Communities portfolio to lift project delivery capability and confidence.
  • Tailor project delivery approaches depending on project scale, complexity, and team needs, using agile, hybrid, or traditional methods as appropriate.

We are on a journey to uplift project management capability. You will play a key role in shaping this change helping build confidence in delivery, tailoring approaches to real-world needs, and supporting teams to lead impactful, fit-for-purpose projects.
