Description

A multinational electrical engineering corporation is seeking to appoint a Project Lead Engineer. In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as the technical lead for all engineering activities in assignments. Each day, you will ensure the activities related to all engineering disciplines within the project are executed in an efficient and cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by acting as a design authority for a particular engineering discipline and completing the corresponding engineering assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BSc or Bachelor of Technology Degree in Electrical/Light Current Engineering.
  • 800xA and Symphony Plus will be advantageous.
  • Designing & Commissioning of HMI\HSI\DCS systems.
  • Cyber Security Implementation for Industrial\Network Systems.
  • Industrial Network configuration and design.
  • Professional registration with ECSA will be advantageous.
  • Coaching and mentoring of young engineers and technicians.
  • Ability to understand and solve automation issues by fault finding.
  • Root Cause Analysis.
  • Responsible for a Project team of 2 to 4 Engineers.
  • Completed at least 2 projects in Automation.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 8+ years’ experience in the field of Automation Engineering with extensive C&I experience in Power Generation & Water industry.
  • Designing & Commissioning of HMI\HSI\DCS systems.
  • Cyber Security Implementation for Industrial\Network Systems.
  • Industrial Network configuration and design.
  • Professional registration with ECSA will be advantageous.
  • Coaching and mentoring of young engineers and technicians.
  • Ability to understand and solve automation issues by fault finding.
  • Root Cause Analysis.
  • Responsible for a Project team of 2 to 4 Engineers.
  • Completed at least 2 projects in Automation.
  • Evaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects with few complex features.
  • Executes assignments using established solutions.
  • Acts as a design authority (if needed) for a particular engineering discipline and completes the corresponding engineering assignments.
  • Acts as a technical lead and approves design deliverables.
  • Reviews complete project documents for conformity, safety, cybersecurity, and quality assurance requirements.
  • Collaborates on project installation, commissioning, and site activities, to clarify potential issues or provide solutions to rectify the engineering errors.
  • Provides technical support to commissioning and start-up activities.
  • Interacts with customers, contractors, and suppliers, attends project meetings, and presents all technical aspects of project assignments.
  • Finalizes the ‘fail-safe philosophy’, “secure-by-design principles”, and other key concepts as part of kick-off and design freeze meetings.
  • Participates in project meetings actively and resolves any outstanding technical issues to meet contractual obligations.
  • Assists in creating proposals for projects through coordinating the proposal documents and engineering estimates.
  • Assists in performing engineering risk analysis before submitting for project risk review.
  • Applies design thinking or design for excellence concepts in projects, including modelling, prototyping, simulation, and calculations.
  • Engages in workshops pertaining to engineering design, tools, and processes.
