Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Bilingual Project Lead to join our team in Ottawa. The Project Lead will oversee the progress of multiple system delivery for large projects in a timely and cost-effective way. We are looking for an experienced, reliable leader to handle the budget, organization, implementation, and scheduling of a major project. Ideally, you have handled low voltage, security, and/or structured cabling projects.
On any given day, you could be working on a brand-new casino or a hospital redevelopment. This position will not leave you wanting more and will challenge your abilities as a construction professional. Your ability to be creative in addressing complex issues and delivering solutions will serve you well to ensure success in this role.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Progressive leadership experience in a construction environment with experience managing projects.
- Experience managing low voltage, security, or structured cabling projects is preferred
- Experience working on healthcare or casino projects is considered a strong asset
- Demonstrated experience implementing a strong safety culture.
- Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards
- Post secondary education in engineering, architecture, construction management, or technology would be considered an asset
- Trades Qualified (electrical, low voltage, controls, HVAC) preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as interpersonal skills
- Competent in conflict and crisis management
- Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Sedona, and project software
- Able to work independently, manage time effectively, and work with multiple deadlines
- Valid Driver’s License with clean abstract
- Bilingual (French and English) is a MUST.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver and complete low voltage systems for new construction, including security systems (CCTV, access control), AudioVisual, and structured cabling
- Provides overall leadership and support for assigned projects, overseeing project personnel and operations.
- Supports secured new work by participating as a part of core pursuit/preconstruction team to contribute to estimate, proposal and/or presentation.
- Coordinate and direct workers and subcontractors
- Provide detailed and accurate reports of project’s progress and financials to key stakeholders
- Develop and manage schedules, resource plans, procurement, commissions, and risk mitigations
- Complete and communicate accurate and detailed documentation, including drawings, testing, schedule, and budget
- Requisition of materials, supplies, pricing, RFIs, and foster strong business relationships to build a pool of local resources
- Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licences
- Provide direction, leadership, and support to all project team members
- Proactively assess risks and develop plans to align with safety regulations; ensure a safe and healthy work environment, and participate in safety committee meetings
- Maintain client satisfaction and promptly resolve any concerns
- Develop and implement quality control programs
