Responsibilities

WHAT WILL BE YOUR ROLE?

Contributing to optical solutions for a healthier, safer, more sustainable and digital world. Envision it. Become a Project Leader at TNO in Delft!
High-quality optical systems are designed and fabricated at TNO for space-based atmospheric monitoring, optical satellite communication, medical devices, quantum technologies, structural health monitoring and instrumentation for the semiconductor industry. This work is for a wide range of customers including Airbus, NASA, ESA, Rijkswaterstaat and many SMEs, and for projects such as the Sentinel 5 global air quality monitoring satellite and ITER.
As a Project Leader in the Optics department you will guide the development and realisation of optical systems. These systems range in size from very large telescopes to tiny photonic integrated circuits (PICs) on a microchip. You will work together with business development colleagues to bring in new projects, and when implementing projects you will be responsible for delivering high quality results to a satisfied customer on time and within budget, whilst maintaining a good atmosphere in the project team and paying attention to the wellbeing of the team members. For the implementation of projects you will work together with teams from within the 60 specialists from the Optics Department, as well as with colleagues from other departments across the whole of TNO.
