Description As a Project Maintenance Mechanic for Tangent, you will be a key part of our engineering project team tasked with the installation and improvement of new and existing machines throughout our Aurora, IL locations. Requirements Roles and Responsibilities Perform troubleshooting, preventive, and ongoing maintenance for new and existing production lines, including electrical and mechanical repairs. Install components such as motors and motor drives, pumps, sensors, hydraulics, pneumatics, transmissions, and make adjustments while keeping in mind quality, tolerances, and order of operations. Work from schedules, work orders, manuals, blueprints, charts, and instructions. Use precision measuring devices (multimeters, calipers, etc.). Maintain, repair, and install a wide variety of machine parts, components, and equipment utilized in production. Evaluate systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed. Operate and maintain STIG, MIG, and TIG welding equipment for aluminum and other materials. Safely operate a sit-down forklift as needed for maintenance and project tasks. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required skills/abilities Must have experience and knowledge of machine operation and troubleshooting. Must demonstrate an understanding of a safe work environment and have a proven ability to work safely. Must have a solid work history showing the ability to maintain a good attendance record. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Experience with STIG, MIG, TIG, and aluminum welding required. Experience operating a sit-down forklift required. Plastic extrusion experience is a plus. Education and experience At least 3 years of experience in machine maintenance positions. physical requirements Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance. Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
