Description:
SUMMARY
The Margaret M. and Albert B. Alkek Department of Medicine is looking for a dynamic project management associate. This position will oversee and coordinate projects across the department and mission areas, and will involve ensuring timely project completion, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication to support the department’s goals. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive innovation and excellence in medical research, patient care, and educational initiatives. This role is at the department level and will be responsible for reporting at the department level and to senior leadership (Chair/Administrator).
This is a part-time position working approximately 25 hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Two years of relevant experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of Six Sigma process.

Responsibilities:
- Lead project planning including defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables. Create detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Lead and coordinate project teams, delegating tasks, and ensuring effective communication among team members.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs, providing regular updates, and managing expectations.
- Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and address issues as they arise.
- Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards and are completed on time, and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including reports, plans, and record.
- Help embed project management, change management, and lean six sigma tools.
- Provide assistance when needed with data analytics, process mapping, lean methodologies, and infrastructure building on their projects.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
