About The Team
The Campus Development portfolio drives the University’s growth and sustainability by managing infrastructure, maintenance, and major capital projects. It leads the Campus Development Plan to ensure the campus evolves strategically, supporting innovation and the needs of students, staff, and the community. Through careful planning and sustainable design, the team creates a high-quality environment for learning, research, and engagement.
Your New Role!
Murdoch University is seeking a number of Project Managers to lead the delivery of capital projects across a diverse range of sizes and complexities — from minor works under $250k, to small (
We welcome applications from candidates with varied levels of project management experience, as we are looking to fill multiple roles across this project spectrum. Whether you’re experienced in large-scale infrastructure or in delivering smaller, focused projects, we encourage you to apply.
As part of the Campus Development portfolio, these roles are crucial in driving these strategic projects from inception to completion. Depending on the level of responsibility, these positions require a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership, and strategic oversight to deliver these projects on time, within scope, and on budget. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing external consultants and contractors, ensuring all project stages—from planning, design, and procurement through to construction and commissioning—are executed efficiently.
A key aspect of the role involves proactive engagement and collaboration with Murdoch delivery partners and stakeholders, and risk and opportunity management to best enable Murdoch investment priorities. The ability to coordinate across multiple internal and external stakeholders, including university leadership, academic units, delivery partners, government agencies, and consultants, is essential. The Senior Project Manager must balance competing priorities, ensuring each project aligns with the University’s sustainability commitments, operational objectives, and future-focused Campus Development Plan.
Beyond project execution, the Project Manager plays a critical role in driving continuous improvement within the portfolio by adopting industry best practice and innovation. This role contributes to shaping a sustainable, accessible, and dynamic campus that supports the University’s mission of fostering research, learning, and community engagement. Through effective leadership and strategic foresight, the Project Manager ensures that every project delivers value, enhances the student and staff experience, and reflects the University’s broader goals.
