Description
Fixed-term contract · Auckland · On site at Tend HQ We're Tend, and we're rebuilding what primary healthcare in New Zealand looks and feels like. Now we're taking on the biggest chapter in our story so far, and we need someone with the discipline to hold it all together. This is the role that keeps the engine room honest. The headline Tend has agreed to acquire The Doctors, New Zealand's largest enrolled primary care network, with 65 clinics and more than 400,000 patients (subject to shareholder approval and completion). That's a lot of moving parts, and the PMO is the spine that holds it upright. We need a PMO Lead to stand up and run the programme office: build the integrated plan, RAID log, governance, reporting, then run it so that from Day 1 the whole programme works off a single source of truth. You own the discipline layer The Chief Experience Officer owns delivery and the Chief Operating Officer holds overall accountability. You keep the plan, risks and reporting honest, current and visible. The work Stand up the system. Build the integrated plan, RAID log, decision register, reporting templates, tooling and governance cadence from a blank sheet, live and trusted from Day 1. Plan and sequence. Maintain one integrated plan across four workstreams (IT & cyber, integration, operational, clinical), in step with a multi-year clinic wave schedule. Run RAID and controls. Own risks, actions, issues and decisions. Chase actions to closure, hold people to dates, escalate early. Police dependencies. Including the firm rule that systems are not co-joined until cyber remediation is sufficiently advanced. Report and govern. Weekly status, programme forum pack, and monthly board and governance packs. Tight, honest, decision-ready, and visible to the board and investors. Coordinate stakeholders. One front door for programme information across workstream leads, sponsors and external advisers. Who we're looking for You can build from a blank sheet. This is the differentiator. You've personally stood up a programme office, not just operated one someone else designed, and had it running in weeks, not months. You're not wedded to any particular tool. Proven delivery. A strong PMO or senior delivery background on complex, multi-workstream programmes. M&A integration, carve-out or transformation preferred. Governance rigour. Real discipline on RAID, reporting and cadence, with clear and honest status. Google Workspace native. Flexible and not dependent on specific tools. Credible with executives. You coordinate without trying to own, and stay calm and autonomous under pace. Ready now. Available to start ASAP and assist with the first integration wave Healthcare experience is a nice-to-have, not a filter Ready to build the spine of something big? Apply now and tell us about a programme office you stood up from scratch.
Responsibilities
Establish and lead a program office from scratch to support the acquisition and integration of a large primary care network. Manage the integrated plan, RAID logs, and governance reporting to ensure a single source of truth for executives and investors.
