PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience with Federal and State funding programs such as LOTCIP, STP, and the CTDOT Local Bridge Program
  • Familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software such as HEC-RAS
  • Working knowledge of environmental and permitting regulations specific to Connecticut
  • Experience with construction phase services and field problem-solving
  • Active involvement in professional organizations such as ASCE or CSCE
Responsibilities

As a valuable part of our Structural Bridge Team, a Project Manager 1 will manage the design and delivery of practical, cost-effective bridge solutions that improve safety and mobility throughout the region with responsibilities such as:

  • Lead the planning, design, and execution of municipal bridge projects across Connecticut, including small- to mid-scale bridges, culverts, pedestrian bridges, and rehabilitations
  • Serve as the primary liaison with municipal clients, ensuring clear communication, responsiveness, and trusted partnership throughout project delivery
  • Supervise the preparation of design documents including structural analyses, construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates in accordance with CTDOT and local standards
  • Work closely with roadway, drainage, environmental, and geotechnical teams to ensure coordinated project solutions
  • Oversee and support local and state permitting processes, including Inland Wetlands, Flood Management, and CTDEEP reviews
  • Provide technical support during construction, including shop drawing reviews, field visits, and contractor coordination
  • Mentor junior engineers, support staff development, and foster a collaborative, problem-solving work environment
  • Contribute to proposal writing, scope and fee development, and client interviews to help grow our municipal bridge portfolio
