The ABB Measurement & Analytics plant in Quebec is a global leader in the field of spectroscopy. Our contract engineering department is the largest Canadian supplier of space optical sensors used, among other things, for monitoring greenhouse gas emissions and for global weather forecasting. Our plant is also recognized for its expertise in the development and manufacturing of various products that meet a wide range of industrial analysis needs on a daily basis.
By joining one of the largest engineering departments in Quebec, you will actively contribute to our clients’ projects as well as to the research and development of our technology. You will be part of a dynamic and stimulating multidisciplinary team.
You will be responsible for engineering contract projects within the Measurement & Analytics business unit in Quebec City (Canada).
You will successfully manage the execution of projects of varying complexity, with budgets ranging from $200,000 to $5 million. Your clients and projects are diverse and include, notably, the Canadian and European space agencies. Reporting to the project office, you will ensure project delivery by rigorously coordinating communications and monitoring all stakeholders. Under your leadership, your team will be committed to developing cutting-edge products within budget, meeting strict quality standards, and complying with the demanding requirements of our clientele.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 10 years of experience in project management (concrete achievements) with international experience.
  • PMP certification recommended.
  • English-French bilingualism essential. French is required. English is also required as this position will service internal and external clients from other provinces.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with converging delivery dates in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative, solution-oriented approach with strong written and spoken communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Business acumen, good understanding of client needs, and ability to maintain good client relationships.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the project team with clear instructions, tasks, and milestones, while motivating and providing feedback.
  • Manage all aspects of the project in accordance with the client’s requirements and ensure that all the technical, safety, quality, and financial objectives are met.
  • Oversee the development of the project plan documents with respect to scope, budget, schedule, and risk management.
  • Monitor each stage of the implementation of the project to ensure best practices in matters of cost control, efficient use of resources, risk management, and health, safety and the environment.
  • Identify, analyze, and manage project risks, regularly sharing lessons learned.
  • Coordinate contract negotiation and equipment procurement in collaboration with the supply chain.
  • Build strong relationships with the clients and stakeholders.
