MDS is looking for a Project Manager – Aftermarket Services who would oversee and drive forward a portfolio of our Projects, Support Contracts and Warranty Phases for a range of clients. In a nutshell, this person will assume authority for ensuring that MDS delivers projects on time and on budget. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5+ years hands-on and onsite facility-based project experience coupled with a strong engineering background having experienced a variety of fields including mechanical structures, fluids, oil, fuel, air, and controls.

In addition to technical support, the Aftermarket team also manages small-scale projects for existing customers, including modifications, upgrades, and installations at engine test facilities.Every day presents a new opportunity for the Aftermarket group to apply our expertise and deliver tangible value in supporting the reliable operation of our customers’ engine testing infrastructure.

Skills/ Experience:

  • University Degree, or equivalent, in Engineering, Construction or Mechanical Technology.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Project Management including coordinating and managing projects involving one or more disciplines - mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, data acquisition, fluid and civil engineering.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical and mechanical drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to use MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project and MS PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship-building abilities, with a proactive mindset and sharp problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work towards fixed deadlines.
  • Experience resolving complex technical issues with cross-functional teams.
  • Willing and able to travel when required
Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical delivery of projects, support contracts, and warranty phases—typically up to $500K—for MDS products generally within North America.
  • Provide strategic direction, coordinate engineering efforts, and ensure responsive, high-quality service including oversight of aftermarket support.
  • Support project delivery by coordinating with Customer Business Services and overseeing end-to-end project administration—from setup and budgeting to scheduling and invoicing.
  • Lead client communications, manage documentation, and ensure smooth collaboration across internal teams and subcontractors.
  • Manage subcontractors for the provision of third-party services and manage them on construction sites.
  • Deliver Support Contracts and Warranty phases by managing project setup, budgets, and the full lifecycle of Customer Support Requests (CSRs) using ERP and JIRA systems.
  • Collaborate across teams and vendors to resolve issues efficiently, maintain clear client communication, and ensure accurate documentation throughout.
  • Partner closely with our dynamic Business Development team to provide assistance on proposals that align with strategic goals and client needs.
  • Responsibility for Aftermarket voicemail (time off in lieu for out of hours).
