Airbus Defence and Space is looking for an enthusiastic, technically knowledgeable Project Manager to join our team in Portsmouth to drive the end-to-end development of next-generation, secure communications infrastructure and software.
Reporting directly to the Programme Manager, this is a key role in a challenging, rapidly changing environment where you will lead complex R&D projects from inception to completion.
How You Will Contribute To The Team
- Lead the Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring & Controlling, and Closing of projects developing complex secure communications infrastructure, software, and services.
- Manage complex development projects strictly in accordance with Airbus project lifecycle standards.
- Apply core project management methods and processes effectively within a dynamic R&D environment.
- Leverage excellent communication and leadership skills to steer projects through a rapidly changing landscape and ensure successful delivery.
About You
- Experienced with full project lifecycle management-from initial proposal through to final customer acceptance.
- Strong technical background in telecommunications or satellite communications systems, software, or equipment development (preferably for defence applications).
- Relevant practical experience managing AGILE software development projects.
- Familiar with Project Management Institute (PMI) lifecycle guidance, which forms the basis of Airbus standards.
