The Role:

This role is part of our Saab Seaeye business unit.

This Project Manager role has the responsibility for delivering assigned new product projects to the requirements of cost, time and quality and for ensuring that Saab Seaeye is recognised as a Project and Program Management Centre of Excellence within Saab UK and the wider Saab business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the delivery of assigned Saab Seaeye New Product Projects meeting cost, schedule and quality requirements
• Deliver to customer contractual requirements
• Deliver benefits in line with business case
• Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Report project status to internal and external stakeholders including customers and project boards
• Ensure adherence to the applicable Saab Project delivery processes
• Ensure adherence to appropriate risk management and financial control tools during execution
• Lead, manage and guide a cross functional project teams
• Take a leading role in the Saab UK and Saab Group Project Management community
• Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of best practice program and project management methodologies
• Be a recognised leader by being accountable, holding others accountable and driving delivery
• Enable a collaborative culture by encouraging communication and team work.
• Support the Saab Seaeye organisation generally in developing new business opportunities
• Proactively ensure alignment with other Project Managers across the Saab organisation as appropriate.

Skills and Experience

Essential

The successful candidate will have:

• Experience managing client projects and delivering work to agreed timelines, budgets and quality standards.
• Must be eligible for Security Clearance and willing to undergo the necessary vetting process.
• Strong organisational, planning and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects or workstreams simultaneously.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
• Strong client, stakeholder and relationship-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to coordinate internal teams, contractors and suppliers to achieve project objectives.
• Confidence using project-management, collaboration and Microsoft 365 tools, including Teams, Outlook, Excel and Word.
• The ability to work independently, identify risks 

What does the job involve?

• Managing the delivery of multiple technology led projects and initiatives
• Delivering complex IT projects often working with third party suppliers to implement a hybrid of internal and external solutions
• Establishing and maintaining effective and trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and external third-party suppliers
• Co-ordinating and driving the collaboration of project resources to get the best from project teams
• Defining scope and production of project plans with responsibility for leading and managing the project team to these plans
• Producing resource forecasts and budgets and monitoring progress against these.
• Where change is required, following appropriate change control procedures
• Regularly reporting on the status and health of projects to sponsors and wider stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
• Effectively managing project risks, issues and dependencies, and assessing for any potential risk to consumer outcomes posed by the project
• Ensure that all duties are carried out with the aim of protecting customers and improving customer experience
• Supporting and enabling the business to achieve its regulatory requirements, including consumer duty

Competence, knowledge and skills

• Strong technical knowledge and experience gained from a technology background
• An ability to quickly understand technical topics
• Ideally PRINCE2 Practitioner certification
• Ideally experience of IT development methodologies e.g. Agile, SDLC
• Experience of delivering in a financially regulated environment desirable
• Financial services industry knowledge, e.g. pensions, investments and stockbroking, would be beneficial
