Your mission The Berghof Foundation is an independent, non-profit organization supporting people in conflict in their efforts to achieve sustainable peace through conflict transformation and peacebuilding. Headquartered in Berlin, the organization is run by a diverse team and works with local partners around the world. Your responsibilities Overview of the position: Hours: part-time (approx. 60%, 23,5 hours per week) Starting date: as soon as possible Duration: limited contract until the end of 2026 Location: Berlin, Germany Salary: According to TVöD Bund, pay grade E13 Department & reporting line: Regional Peace Support Department, Head of Unit for Europe Your main tasks: You lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities and ensure their timely and high-quality delivery You steer project workflows, set priorities, and coordinate contributions across team members and workstreams You define and track project progress, identify implementation risks, and develop mitigation measures where needed You act as a main contact point for project partners, stakeholders, and participants and ensure clear and professional communication You actively plan, participate in, and partly facilitate project-related activities and events (including in Ukraine and elsewhere) You conduct background research on conflict contexts and contribute to conflict analysis and strategic reflection where needed You take responsibility for core administrative and financial project management tasks, including budgeting, financial planning, reporting, and travel or event preparations You contribute to the development of concept notes and project proposals You prepare donor reporting and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements Proven experience working with Ministries of Foreign Affairs or similar governmental institutions is required Your knowledge, experience & skills Master degree (accred. Universities) within relevant field such as Peace and Conflict Studies, Gender Studies, Political Science, Law, International Relations Demonstrated knowledge and at least three years’ experience in the topics of Women, Peace and Security, gender-sensitive programming, Demonstrated knowledge and experience in workshop design and facilitation Demonstrated experience in diplomacy and political sensitive contexts Excellent planning, budgeting and written communication skills Experience in remote communication & cooperation, and operating online communication and workshop platforms Excellent verbal and written language skills in English (at least C1-level) Certified mediation and negotiation training Additional skills: Strong ability to work with perseverance as part of a team as well as independently Curiosity and strong empathetic/intercultural skills You prepare and quality-assure relevant project materials, including agendas, presentations, workshop documentation, and briefing notes Requirements What you can expect from us Highly experienced and engaged community of practice Transparent terms of compensation (housetarif) Highly relevant, insightful and challenging tasks In-House trainings on various topics Flexibility and adaptability to unforeseeable changes Confidence-based flexible working hours Flexibility regarding office vs. mobile working solutions If needed – advisory services regarding visa matters and travel conditions Agile mindset Application procedure The contract duration of the part-time position is limited until 31.12.2026, depending on the availability of project funds.
