KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED

Include but are not limited to:

  • High School Diploma/GED is required. Completion of post-secondary studies in construction, building technology, engineering or a similar field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10-years previous experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry.
  • In-depth understanding of construction principles and procedures.
  • Previous commercial and/or institutional construction experience.
  • Must have a valid and clean Driver’s license and be willing to travel to various sites.
  • Demonstrated ability to read technical documents and drawings is required.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office tools, including; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Projects.
  • Proficiency with Procore.
  • Knowledge of pull planning techniques.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills, including oral, written and presentation abilities, as well as networking and relationship building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently to complete assigned tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks.
  • Demonstrated desire to be a lifelong learner.
  • A strong service orientation, with a focus on making Aman Builders a respected and reputable construction company.
  • Strong “team” orientation, with demonstrated group process skills; this includes participation in high level planning and group involvement processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to be respectful of diversity.

Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to:

  • Support contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors by assisting with contract preparations, negotiations, revisions, and modifications.
  • Build client and stakeholder trust by developing and maintain exceptional relationships and ensuring timely project completion while avoiding unnecessary penalties.
  • Support budget preparation by providing cost estimations and weighing options to meet quality standards within scope.
  • Maintain all financial aspects of the project by maintaining, tracking, and reporting on forecasts and billings.
  • Ensure project progression by procuring and allocating resources for subcontractors, trades, and suppliers to avoid any unnecessary delays.
  • Ensure quality control by monitoring QC programs.
  • Ensure project success by planning and preparing construction schedules and milestones and monitoring progress against established schedules.
  • Support quality control by making recommendations on employee performance.
  • Ensure uniformity upon project completion by coordinating tasks between sites.
  • Mitigate internal and external risks within the project’s lifetime by generating a risk matrix, evaluating risks and opportunities, and discovering a win-win solution.
  • Support project schedules by preparing progress summary reports for the Project Director.
  • Complete operational requirements by assigning tasks to direct reports and following up on work results.
  • Lead and manage human resources initiatives and activities for direct reports including coaching, recruitment, on-boarding, performance management, employee development, employee recognition and general support.
  • Enhance productivity by providing suggestions to refine workflow and boost efficiency.
  • Prepare and maintain the Health & Safety on construction sites by; maintaining awareness of surroundings, observing stipulated safety codes at all times and escalating injuries and other accidents to the HSE Officer.
  • Support administration by completing required paperwork, and other documentation as required.
