Description Archaeologist / Project Manager – Entry/Mid-Level Brockington and Associates is seeking a field archaeologist and project manager based in our Charleston, SC office for archaeological field work throughout the US. Minimum education: MA/MHP/MS in archaeology, anthropology, history, or historic preservation. Minimum experience: Two to four years of experience managing archaeological field projects. You must have the ability to: Prepare and execute detailed research designs; Conduct fieldwork - including archaeological survey, testing, and data recovery investigations; Lead projects, including field, lab, and reporting efforts, as Principal Investigator; Identify prehistoric and historic artifacts and features in the field; Effectively discuss projects with colleagues, clients, and review agencies; Prepare and manage budgets and schedules; and Write professional technical reports and publications. You should have an applied knowledge of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and a working familiarity of other environmental statutes and regulations. Travel, physical labor, and time spent in outdoor conditions are requirements of this job. You must be able to work as a member of a diverse team, manage projects and people, and complete other delegated project tasks. You should possess strong communication skills, to work professionally with clients and government agencies, and be able to supervise the work of others. Brockington is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
