POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Junior IT Project Manager to support IT leadership and project teams on critical technology initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to highly visible projects while providing administrative and project management support. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, the ability to communicate effectively across diverse teams, and experience coordinating project deliverables, documentation, and timelines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of government or large enterprise IT environments.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with leadership, technical staff, and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, operate with flexibility, and work independently.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience in an Information Technology organization.
  • Experience preparing and managing professional documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain attention to detail with accurate documentation and organizational practices.
  • Create project plans, track progress, and provide status updates for assigned deliverables.
  • Manage document versioning, incorporate feedback, and ensure timely reviews and approvals.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings (virtual and in-person), prepare agendas, record or review meeting minutes, and track follow-up actions.
  • Track and manage project activities, risks, issues, and procurement-related actions.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with project teams, leadership, and stakeholders.
  • Prepare presentation-ready documents, reports, and templates using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ensure confidentiality of procurement, contracting, security details, and personally identifiable information (PII).
  • Review and route system support or procurement requests for approval, gathering required business justifications and documentation.
  • Balance both strategic and tactical responsibilities, adapting to the needs of leadership and project assignments.
  • Represent the IT team professionally when working with internal units or external third parties.
  • Adhere to established project management policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
