WSP is currently initiating a search for an Aviation Building Project Manager!
This position sits out of our Durham, NC office.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Construction Management, or closely related discipline.
  • 7+ years of relevant post education experience in the learned discipline/industry.
  • Registered Architect in NC is a plus.
  • Proficient knowledge of project planning and budgeting, and project management best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of construction drawing standards and building codes, including fire, electric, energy, utilities, ADA, egress, and associated permitting.
  • Familiarity and experience with Airport and Aviation projects.
  • Solid understanding of architectural tools (AutoCAD, REVIT, Bluebeam, SketchUp, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, attention to detail and highly organized.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently and able to multi-task.
  • Ability to work schedules is conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Accountable, reliable, trustworthy.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in architecture is preferred.
  • Aviation and Transit architecture related experience.
  • Project Management Certification (PMP) preferred.
  • Registered Architect in NC is considered a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including airport authorities, airlines, government agencies, regulatory bodies, and industry partners.
  • Providing project management services and oversight for a variety of architectural and aviation building design and construction projects.
  • Managing consultants and contractors, procurement support, and construction oversight.
  • Coordinating with the Client’s planning and capital development departments to ensure schedules are aligned and deadlines are met.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate concisely both verbally and in written form.
  • Ability to solve problems and manage budgets.
  • Collaborate with other Business Units to develop and deliver a ‘OneWSP’ service offering to aviation clients.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
