The Project Manager (UK) is responsible for leading the execution of utility‑scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Photovoltaic (PV) projects across the United Kingdom. The role covers full project lifecycle management—from design coordination to construction, commissioning, and handover—ensuring compliance with UK regulations and alignment with DNO/TSO requirements. The Project Manager reports to the Head of Construction and works closely with internal teams, EPC partners, suppliers, and grid operators. Responsibilities Project Leadership — Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of BESS and PV projects in the UK, ensuring scope, schedule, cost, and quality targets are met. Stakeholder Coordination — Coordinate with EPC contractors, OEMs, engineering teams, and local authorities throughout all project phases. Grid Connection Management — Manage all technical and procedural activities related to DNO/TSO grid connection, including: G99/G100 compliance Data exchange and SCADA integration Witness testing and energisation procedures Interface with National Grid and local DNOs BESS & PV Technical Oversight — Oversee technical design reviews, equipment specifications, and integration of BESS and PV systems. Construction & Site Management — Supervise site activities, ensuring HSE compliance, contractor performance, and adherence to UK construction standards. Risk & Contract Management — Identify project risks, implement mitigation plans, and manage contractual obligations with suppliers and contractors. Budget & Reporting — Monitor project budgets, prepare progress reports, and ensure transparent communication with senior management. Commissioning & Handover — Lead commissioning activities, performance testing, and final handover to asset management teams. Requirements Proven experience as Project Manager in BESS, PV, or large‑scale renewable energy projects. Strong understanding of UK grid connection processes, including direct experience with DNO/TSO (e.g., National Grid, UK Power Networks, SPEN, SSE, Northern Powergrid). Experience managing EPC contractors and multi‑disciplinary engineering teams. Strong understanding of UK HSE regulations and CDM requirements. Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast‑paced environment. Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus. Willingness to travel across the UK and occasionally within Europe.
