KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Considerable experience in leading initiatives
  • Considerable experience managing and facilitation staff teams, committees or work groups.
  • Extensive experience applying project management processes and methodologies to execute monitor and control projects. Experience specifically as it relates to the delivery of technology solutions considered an asset
  • Post-secondary education in business administration, project management, applied science or a related discipline pertinent to the job function or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification considered an asset
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills including writing reports, briefing notes, and delivering presentations.
  • Ability to apply project management methodologies ad approaches and ability to maintain accurate and details documentation and records, both electronically and in hard copy
  • Political acumen, judgement and insight, including the ability to problem solve, negotiate and achieve effective business solutions and consensus among parties having different objectives.
  • Highly developed human relations, consultation, facilitation and negotiation skills at all levels within the organization (stakeholder engagement, client management, delivery, etc.).
  • Ability to exercise discretion and judgement with confidential information pertaining to human resources matters and the transformation initiative
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to organize, prioritize, execute tasks to meet deadlines
  • Ability to continuously improve, learn, acquire and update technical knowledge and working ability
  • Knowledge of current and emerging technologies
  • Familiarity with Toronto Public Service values and ability to support an ethical, supportive and respectful workplace culture that champions equity, diversity and inclusion.
  • Must be familiar with government legislation in the area of occupational health and safety.

Responsibilities

The Parks and Recreation Division is seeking a temporary Project Manager of Business Transformation who will lead large scale technology projects support divisional initiatives. The successful candidate will focus on implementing business transformational initiatives that will have impact to overall business performance of the division. They will provide direction that supports the services offered by P&R, incorporating best practices, interrelated processes, operational practices and procedures to enhance the overall client experience. the project Manager will collaborate with business units in P&R, Technology Services and organizational change management staff in order to manage the project.
