Description Position Title: Project Manager – Cable Assemblies Department: Project Management Location: Santa Ana, CA FLSA Status: Exempt, Full- Time Job Summary: The Project Manager – Cable Assemblies is responsible for overseeing all cable assembly projects from initiation through completion. This role manages engineering support for cable products, coordinates supplier activities, and ensures that all assemblies meet quality standards. A key focus of the position is maintaining and improving cable test setups, supervising production processes, and delivering projects on schedule while meeting internal and external requirements. Key Responsibilities: · Supervise cable assembly projects end-to-end, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives. · Provide engineering support for cable assembly products, including troubleshooting and optimizing test setups. · Lead supplier management activities with the cables’ outsourced supplier, coordinating closely with their team to drive performance and quality. · Ensure that products received from suppliers meet all quality requirements and internal standards. · Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements in manufacturing and testing. · Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in quality assurance. · Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including schedules, specifications, and quality records. · Assess RFP/RFQ to support bid / no bid decisions. Qualifications: · 5+ years of experience in cable manufacturing. · Strong working knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Acceptability for cable & wire harness assemblies) and/or NASA-STD-8739.4 (Crimping, interconnecting cables, harnesses, and wiring). · Demonstrated experience with cable testing and troubleshooting test setups is highly preferred. · Proven project management skills with experience managing supplier relationships and cross-functional teams. · Familiarity with quality management systems and continuous improvement methodologies. (preferred) Physical Requirements: · Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. · Ability to use standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, and copiers. · Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, or reach. · May need to lift or move items up to 15 pounds. · Ability to travel occasionally to attend meetings, site visits, or conferences, if required. · Visual acuity to read and prepare reports, presentations, and spreadsheets. --- This job description is intended to provide a clear overview of the primary duties and responsibilities for the Project Manager – Cable Assemblies position.
