Project Manager – Capital Works & Masterplan Reporting to: Head of Infrastructure & Precinct Operations Purpose Working closely with the Masterplan & Capital Projects (Horizon 0) teams to oversee and deliver key venue special projects and Capital Works throughout the next phase of growth ensuring that Flemington’s facilities & experience match the VRC’s strategic goals. Drive innovation with the Masterplan and Horizon 0 team’s in regard to processes, practises to provide efficiency and responsibility. Provide operational assistance for events and over Melbourne Cup Carnival as required. Stakeholders Internal: C-Suite, Department Heads & Managers, Board of Directors and the wider VRC team. External: VRC Members, Customers & Clients, Suppliers & Vendors, and Industry Networks & Associations. Focus Project Management: Project manage the delivery of refurbishments and optimisation of key Flemington infrastructure including grandstand areas & amenities. Continual development and review of the Flemington asset management plan including strategic asset planning and capital works. Asset/Infrastructure Planning: Scoping of key capital works as they relate to the venue. Infrastructure life cycle management including life cycle costs, evaluation of asset performance and replacement planning/deliver. Procurement: Oversee and coordinate the activities of specialist consultant groups (e.g. engineers, builders and other specialist consultants). Manage the procurement of key capital expenditure in relation to venue assets including refurbishments. Budget: Budget management and reporting for key capital budget items and future forecasts Reporting: Provide supporting information to assist the senior/executive leadership and board with their decision making Success Measures (KPIs) Timely and budget-compliant delivery of all projects. Stakeholder satisfaction and seamless cross-functional coordination. Compliance with WH&S policies and site safety requirements. Timely reporting. Continuous improvement initiatives implemented. Core Capabilities Experience in project management & delivering large-scale projects of a variety of disciplines. Strong stakeholder relationship management both internally and externally. Experience in managing the procurement and management of contractors, including relevant current OH&S legislation. A working familiarity with the key legislation relating to the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and the Disability Discrimination Act. A familiarity with working with statutory authorities is preferred.
