Role description: The Project Manager (Capture) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering projects that support the Underwater Battlespace investment strategy in line with the integrated IBP. The role also drives small to medium value opportunities across the UWB portfolio through the full business winning lifecycle, from early planning and solution development through to proposal submission, negotiation, and contract award Core Duties: Lead and deliver small‑to‑medium investment-related projects – Private Venture (PV), Internal and Capital Lead and deliver small‑to‑medium value opportunities Coordinate and collaborate with teams across Business Winning, Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and external suppliers to successfully deliver collaborative investment projects and securing new opportunities Manage business cases, project plans, risks, governance, and reporting to ensure successful delivery Support strategy development, investment transitions, due diligence, and operational readiness activities Drive improvements to investment and business winning processes, data, and systems Essential Skills: You’ll have a relevant project management qualification, ideally chartered or working toward chartership, with APM or PRINCE2 You’ll hold experience managing projects within BAE Systems, with an understanding of LCM governance considered You’ll demonstrate strong organisational skills, proactive leadership, and the ability to work effectively across functions to develop competitive, high‑quality bids aligned to UWB strategic priorities You’ll have proven stakeholder management experience, with the ability to communicate and influence across complex and diverse internal and external stakeholder groups Benefits: As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts - you may also be eligible for an annual incentive.
