Description

The Role

We are seeking a Project Manager to join our Project Delivery team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their project management career to broaden their experience, build capability within an OEM environment and gain exposure to cross-functional project delivery at Metso

The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of projects using Metso processes, tools and policies, with guidance from senior team members as required. Working closely with internal teams, customers and suppliers, you will help deliver safe, high-quality outcomes in line with agreed scope, schedule and budget.

What you'll do:

  • Manage a portfolio of projects using Metso project management processes, tools and frameworks, with support from senior team members as required
  • Coordinate sales handover and project kick-off meetings, confirming scope, responsibilities, deliverables and key milestones
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, action registers, risk and opportunity registers, and project documentation
  • Coordinate cross-functional project teams and support functions to progress agreed deliverables
  • Monitor project scope, schedule, cost, quality and risk, and escalate emerging issues promptly
  • Maintain clear and timely communication with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Support scope control and change management, including identifying, documenting and progressing variations
  • Prepare accurate monthly project status reports, forecasts and updates
  • Participate in project portfolio reviews and steering meetings as required
  • Track actions and follow through to closure, maintaining accurate records and decisions
  • Capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate project close-out and handover to Services, including required documentation and installed-base updates
  • Support warranty matters, root cause analysis and resolution activities where required
  • Provide project delivery, technical and cost input to sales cases and proposals as requested
  • Undertake other reasonable responsibilities consistent with the role

More about you..

  • Experience in project coordination, project delivery or a related role, with an understanding of project management principles.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines and project documentation.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams, customers and suppliers.
  • A practical, customer-focused approach to problem-solving, sound judgement and a willingness to seek support or escalate issues when required.
  • A commitment to safety, quality and ethical standards, with a willingness to learn and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Exposure to project controls, including scheduling, cost tracking, forecasting, risk management or change control, would be beneficial.
  • Experience in an OEM, mining, mineral processing, engineering, manufacturing or service environment, or familiarity with systems such as Microsoft Project, SAP or Enovia, would be advantageous.
  • A tertiary qualification in engineering, business, project management or a related discipline, or a recognised project management qualification (or progress towards one), would be well regarded.
