Description:
SEM ltd is looking for a Project Manager – Civil and Mechanical. SEM ltd is a vendor of personnel for several clients throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. The purpose of this job advertisement is to source highly skilled local professionals for job placement opportunities that align with their experience.
We require the services of an individual to join our clients’ engineering and project management team. The individual will support the execution of projects throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Job functions include but are not limited to:
· Manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects and scopes of work;
· Create and execute project work plans, revising as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements;
· Prepare tender packages for contracts;
· Prepare requests for proposals (RFPs);
· Review tender packages prepared by other consultants and contractors;
· Initiate and monitor all aspects of projects to ensure compliance with schedules and budgets;
· Ensure project change requests are properly evaluated and authorized;
· Ensure all approved changes are communicated to the project team and reflected in the active project budget and schedule;
· Identify and respond to issues, implement timely interventions or escalate as required to ensure project outcomes comply with project plans;
· Ensure that terms of agreements or commitments are understood and fully respected;
· Direct and supervise consultants and contractors during the completion of specific engagements;
· Communicate with Operations on a regular basis;
· Travel to site as required to provide technical input and field support;
· Project List includes Churchill Falls, Menihek and Soldiers Pond.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
· Engineering Degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
· Professional Engineer registered in Newfoundland & Labrador;
· 8 years or more experience in construction projects;
· Field experience, particularly relating to hydro-electric facilities or the electrical industry in general is considered desirable;
· Excellent computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office;
· Ability to work in a dynamic work environment;
· A valid driver’s license will be required as there will be some travel involved.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 10 months
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Experience:
- Construction: 8 years (preferred)
- Civil engineering: 5 years (preferred)
Willingness to travel:
- 25% (preferred)
