Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Civil Project Manager to join our team. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing project implementation, ensuring quality management, and effectively communicating with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Job Duties
· Analyze, understand, and deliver projects according to drawings, specifications, and contractual terms and conditions.
· Reviewing tenders and providing a bid summary to the Operation Team for bid/no bid reviews.
· Develop project estimates, schedules, and execution plans
· Attending pre-tender meetings and liaising with owners, engineers, and sub-contractors.
· Manage and support tenders, budgets, project schedules, progress, and monthly reports.
· Maintain a culture that promotes safety, quality, and environmental compliance for project teams, craft employees, subcontracts, and clients while following all policies, procedures, and regulations.
· Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members’ strengths, skill sets, and experience levels.
· Manage the selection of subcontractors and administrative processes.
· Manage internal and external project reporting requirements.
· Manage the relationships with clients and all stakeholders.
· Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
· Other tasks and duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Engineering Degree, or graduate of an applicable technical diploma program, or an equivalent combination of education (ie. PMP/PRINCE II) and related work experience.
· Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
· Proficient use of project management software and programs is a requirement. (ie. FieldCap, Traqspera, Bluebeam, Viewpoint, Heavy Bid, HCSS)
· Certifications and courses in project and management related areas considered an asset
EXPERIENCE:
· Minimum five years’ experience in Industrial, Civil, Forestry, or a related industry in a project management capacity
· Experience in a General Contractor role considered an asset
· Demonstrated experience reading and understanding project documents, including contracts, drawings, specifications, subcontracts, etc.
· Proven experience in preparing, tendering, evaluating, and implementing contract bids.
· Proven understanding of estimating and project management theories, methodologies, and industry practices.
· Strong awareness of project budget, scope, and primary tasks to maintain project schedules.
· Familiarity with relevant construction codes, standards, and practices.
· Familiarity with Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) policies and processes is considered an asset.
