OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a Project Manager who will support our client. The selected candidate will act as the project manager for the implementation of modifications to the current Electronic Disease Surveillance System (EDSS). This role will require close attention to detail, strong documentation skills, and collaboration to ensure that the EDSS enhancements meet the needs of users, are implemented efficiently, and adhere to the established technical and release management processes.

MANDATORY SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:

• BA or higher education from an accredited institution in a related discipline. A copy of the degree must be submitted with the Candidate Proposal Response.
• 6+ years’ experience in project management.
• 6+ years’ experience in Electronic Communicable Disease Surveillance Systems.
• 6+ years’ experience in implementing large scale systems modifications or implementation of systems projects.
• 6+ years’ experience eliciting, documenting and managing requirements for system modifications.
• 6+ years’ experience in SQL.

DESIRABLE SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:

• 6+ years’ experience in project management certified by Project Management Institute (PMI).
• 6+ years’ experience with Object Oriented Development methodology and design from specifications expressed by use cases, class diagrams, interaction diagrams and sequence diagrams.
• 6+ years’ experience with redesigns focusing on improving user experience and user interfaces.

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Albany, NY 1220

• Develop proficiency with the current Communicable Disease Electronic Surveillance System (EDSS) and related data.
• Solicitate requirements to identify necessary changes to the current EDSS.
• Document feedback from program and Local Health Departments (LHDs).
• Document and track progress in implementing the required changes.
• Create appropriate documentation of code repositories and technical design documents.
• Release management process including technical steps to promote, test and release through the development environment, coordinating with EDSS Manager and infrastructure staff.
