Description

Timmerman Timberworks Inc. is a leader in the Canadian mass timber industry for the supply and installation of heavy timber framing, glulam and structural wood elements. Our Construction Team is looking for an experienced Project Manager who is able to manage daily coordination of construction projects in the office. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in construction project management, be organized, detail-oriented and driven. The individual must be self-motivated with high energy and the ability to interact with numerous individuals, in multiple functions, in a dynamic and changing environment.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Post-Secondary Education in a related discipline
  • Expert communication skills that include active listening, the ability to have difficult conversations, precise writing and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of tendering process, contracts, drawings and construction practices preferred
  • Strong work ethic with an attention to detail
  • Action oriented individual with a natural drive towards results
  • Access to own vehicle and a good driving record is required
  • Estimating and quantity takeoff experience

Responsibilities
  • Consult blueprints, designs, and client instructions to develop construction plans
  • Coordinating Suppliers & Delivery Schedules
  • Provide updates regarding progress, cost, change orders, RFI’s, workload and material requirements
  • Document all costs and ensure that expenses never exceed the construction budget
  • Direct involvement and construction representation for the duration of projects.
  • Preparation of RFI’s, quotations, proposals, claims and related correspondence and issue resolution
  • Assist in developing best construction practices and implementing on-site.
  • Communicating and negotiating directly with clients and designers on a daily basis
  • Preparation of master and detailed schedules
  • Responsible for delivering projects on schedule and on budget
  • Update clients on construction progress through presentations and client meetings
  • Other duties as requested
