Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia’s future.  Downer Professional Services comprises of three business units our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice, and Team Downer, which partners with CASG and NSSG as a major service provider to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for clients across Defence and National Security. Working within a complex Joint Capability environment, you will partner with Defence stakeholders, Army representatives, industry partners and multidisciplinary teams to help define future capability requirements, develop project solutions and support decision-making that contributes to Australia's ongoing defence readiness. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of capability development, communications technology, stakeholder engagement and project delivery, providing advice that influences future Defence outcomes while building your consulting career within one of Australia's leading Defence professional services organisations. What You’ll Do This role supports a significant Defence communications and command-and-control capability program focused on enhancing the Australian Defence Force's ability to communicate, coordinate and operate effectively across complex environments. You will contribute to programs involving capability planning, systems integration, requirements development, risk reduction and acquisition activities that support the delivery of next-generation Defence communications capabilities. Working closely with Defence stakeholders and industry partners, you will help shape solutions that contribute to future operational effectiveness and preparedness.   This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including: * Support Defence project leadership in the planning and delivery of future capability outcomes * Engage with Defence stakeholders to understand and translate capability requirements into actionable project outcomes * Contribute to capability planning, project documentation, submissions, briefs and business cases * Support the development and management of work packages and project delivery activities * Assist with capability integration, risk reduction and assurance activities * Review technical, commercial and program documentation to support informed decision-making * Support project governance and progression through the Defence capability lifecycle What You’ll Bring Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain an AGSVA Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth.
