Description:

UDA Consulting Group is looking for a project manager to join its ecology and biodiversity team. UDA’s multidisciplinary team includes agricultural, forestry and geology engineers, agronomists, biologists and other environmental specialists. The project manager will be required to actively collaborate in the planning, coordination and management of various environmental projects (environmental inventories, environmental studies, sectoral studies, permit and authorization applications, etc.).

REQUIREMENTS AND TRAINING

  • Hold a university degree in biology or any other field relevant to environmental management;
  • More than six (6) years of relevant professional experience;
  • Effective time management and decision-making skills;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Autonomy, initiative and attention to detail, ability to work in a team and in a dynamic environment;
  • Advanced knowledge of the Office suite (Word, Excel);
  • Important asset: very good knowledge of biology (delimitation of wetlands, identification of plant species of interest for conservation).

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES RELATED TO THE POSITION

  • Actively contribute to the leadership of the department including the organization of weekly coordination and resource planning meetings;
  • Manage the staff under his supervision including but not limited to: coaching, supervising and developing staff skills, carrying out annual performance management and developing individual development plans;
  • Plan, direct and control the execution of projects in accordance with UDA’s mandate and to the satisfaction of clients, the organization, team members and other stakeholders;
  • Manage and resolve technical, financial and human issues proactively and in a timely manner in order to limit potential deviations;
  • Lead the conduct of environmental impact studies and other related studies within a multidisciplinary team;
  • Lead applications for environmental permits and certificates of authorization;
  • Design and participate in the implementation of compensation and impact mitigation projects;
  • Analyze and evaluate data and project impacts on the environment, fauna and flora;
  • Participate in the drafting of proposals, environmental study reports and sampling protocols;
  • Maintain effective and constructive relationships with clients;
  • Act as a technical environmental expert in support of various company projects;
  • Work in collaboration with all company departments to carry out projects;
  • Promote and implement the occupational health and safety prevention program.
