NSB Omega is searching for a Project Manager for our MAJOR Utilities Client in St. John’s, NL.
The Project Manager will oversee the successful planning, execution, and closeout of terminal station projects, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, budgets, and timelines. The role requires leadership in project management best practices, contractor oversight, and stakeholder coordination, with a focus on Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) excellence.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED / SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or a relevant engineering discipline) registered with the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL) association;
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) is preferred;
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive project management and/or engineering experience in high-voltage electrical projects, including terminal stations and transmission systems;
- Proven experience managing complex projects involving high-voltage equipment such as power transformers, current transformers, voltage transformers, circuit breakers, and disconnect switches;
- Strong background in coordinating and managing multidisciplinary project teams (e.g., electrical, civil, mechanical) and collaborating with design and construction groups;
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects on operational industrial sites, including contractor supervision and adherence to site-specific safety requirements;
- Proficiency in project management tools (such as Microsoft Project or Primavera) as well as excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite;
- Ability to adapt to dynamic work environments and changing project demands;
- Valid Canadian driver’s license with Government Drivers Abstract acceptable to the Client;
- Valid certifications in WHMIS 2015, Defensive Driving, Powerline Hazards, Emergency First Aid, Fall Protection, and Trenching and Excavating are considered assets;
