Description

Groupe Conseil UDA Inc. (UDA) is looking for a project manager in emergency response (environment). The project manager will be responsible for managing various accidental spill projects that have affected soil, surface water and groundwater. He will also be called upon to support the team carrying out environmental characterizations (Phases II and III) and the environmental rehabilitation of contaminated sites. UDA’s multidisciplinary team includes agricultural, forestry and geology engineers, agronomists, liaison officers with varied profiles, biologists, agricultural drainage specialists, geographers, draftsmen (AutoCAD), geomatics and geographic information system specialists, environmental monitoring specialists, agricultural and forestry technicians, wildlife technicians and administrative staff.

REQUIREMENTS AND TRAINING

  • Bachelor’s degree (BAC) in geological engineering, environment or any other relevant discipline;
  • More than 3 years of relevant professional experience in the environment (an asset);
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Be comfortable with change and being in a dynamic work environment;
  • Effective priority management and decision-making skills;
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness;
  • Good skills in planning field work;
  • Autonomy, initiative and attention to detail, ability to work in a team and in a dynamic environment;
  • Possess a good knowledge of provincial and federal environmental regulations (an asset);
  • Advanced knowledge of the Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Knowledge of QGIS (an asset).

Responsibilities

The project manager will be responsible for managing various accidental spill projects that have affected soil, surface water and groundwater. The project manager will also be called upon to support the team carrying out environmental characterizations (Phases II and III) and the environmental rehabilitation of contaminated sites. More specifically:

  • Plan, coordinate and supervise emergency environmental rehabilitation projects;
  • Ensure compliance with project deadlines and budgets;
  • Manage interventions involving several subcontractors;
  • Ensure compliance of work with applicable regulations;
  • Find solutions to construction site problems;
  • Ensure good relations with customers and suppliers;
  • Compile data and write follow-up emails;
  • Make intervention cost estimates;
  • Participate in carrying out construction site work;
  • Approve supplier invoices and prepare project invoices;
  • Work in collaboration with all departments of the company to carry out projects;
  • Promote and implement the occupational health and safety prevention program.
