Description

MES Power Engineering are hiring a Project Manager.
The role of Project Manager is to ensure controlled delivery of MES client’s projects and services from allocation through construction to final client handover.
The role holder will have excellent communication skills to work with all staff, suppliers and customers. The Project Manager will report directly to his designated Manager and will work closely with the Lead Craftsmen and the Support staff to ensure that projects are completed in accordance with company policies and clients’ needs on time and in the most cost-effective manner.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • HNC or equivalent in relevant discipline
  • Qualified as Electrical Technician is preferred
  • Qualified to act as an SAP (Desirable) Otherwise awareness of operational requirements
  • Extensive experience with qualified supervisor duties
  • Experience in project management with an electrical industrial bias
  • Proven ability to deliver a range of projects

Responsibilities
  • Actively promote a positive safety culture on your projects, ensuring all health, safety, and operational rules and procedures are adhered to by staff and contractors.
  • Manage the delivery of multiple projects with values up to £1m, in a safe and efficient manner meeting allocated scopes, quality standards, timescales, and budgets. This will include high-level programming and in-depth financial forecasting.
  • Contractor management from tender and procurement stage through to execution and close out of projects.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders including estimate and design, specifically in early stages of project lifecycles to ensure the project is deliverable.
  • Detailed knowledge of design, construction, and operation of electrical plant and equipment on a Distribution Network.
  • Experience in managing projects within an ICP environment and working with and managing contractors & craftsmen.
  • Ability to deliver within tight timescales, effectively prioritize, plan and organize, and balance immediate and longer-term business priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficient organization skills and a strength in developing and nourishing positive working relationships.
  • Excellent knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 and an HNC - SMSTS, SSSTS, IOSH or other suitable safety management certification.
