JOB DESCRIPTION

Long Painting Company (LPC) is looking to add an experienced Project Manager/Estimator to support our Industrial operations. Typical industrial work can encompass shipyards, bridges, tank farms, factory maintenance painting, dams and other various types infrastructure. LPC conducts some of the most complex projects in the northwest, with projects ranging from $5,000 to several million dollars, may employ up to 200 employees during peak months and typically conducts 25-40 projects at once.
An LPC Project Manager/Estimator is given goals for bidding, sales, profitability and responsible for the successful completion of the project. Comprehension of economic factors, time management, bid opportunities, risk, cost projections, reporting accuracy and attention to detail are important for success.
This position is based at the corporate office in Kent, Washington.

REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • At least 3 years’ experience estimating and managing industrial coating applications on bridges, port facilities, ships, manufacturing facilities, tank farms, pipelines, etc.
  • Knowledge of floor, tank, marine, and concrete coatings, including fireproofing and plural component applications, as well as surface preparation standards, including various abrasive blasting techniques and lead paint abatement
  • Familiarity with industry standards (SSPC, NACE, etc.) for maintaining quality certifications
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively work with a diverse group of employees, other contractors, and customers
  • A strong understanding of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Presentation skills to successfully communicate with the project team
  • Familiarity with construction management and scheduling software

An annual salary for an Industrial Project Manager/Estimator is between $90,000 to $115,000+, depending on experience. LPC provides generous benefits, including annual bonuses, paid vacation, sick time, military, and parental leave. Medical, dental, life, and disability insurance are provided – the employee’s monthly cost is $85 for an individual and up to $260 for entire family coverage. A 401(k)-retirement plan is provided with a matching contribution after one year of employment. A monthly vehicle allowance is provided. Schedule is operations dependent, generally Monday – Friday. Flexible scheduling is expected and allowed to accommodate the various needs of the employee and the company.
