ABOUT US

We are Pacific Conveyors Ltd, a mid sized, quickly growing company with a primary focus on mechanical installation of conveyor and automated material handling systems. Our industry is experiencing high growth due to the move to e-commerce. We are based in Delta, BC and take pride in solving problems for our clients with ingenuity, punctuality, and professionalism.

THE POSITION

We are looking for a hardworking and passionate individual. You will be responsible for the preparation of detailed estimates as well as project management for projects of various sizes and scopes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Business or an advanced trade qualification is preferred
  • PMP an asset
  • 2 or more years experience in construction estimation or equivalent.
  • 2 or more years experience in managing projects in a construction environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of industry products, practices, and standards.
  • Experience with conveyors or similar electromechanical devices.
  • Knowledge of engineering software and engineering skills an asset.
  • Extensive experience with spreadsheet software.
  • Demonstrated organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent ability to think critically and problem solve.
  • Scheduling, cost control and contract management experience.
  • Highly motivated with an ability to work under minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
  • Produce all costs for tender submissions for material, labour and equipment to develop accurate quotations.
  • Review and understand tender specifications and drawings and follow through with estimating process to develop competitive bids.
  • Engage suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing to incorporate into estimate.
  • Communicate with clients to gather information, clarify specifications and wordings.
  • Participate in closing the bid, startup and wrap up meetings and debriefs following the project completion.
  • Communicating with the installation team on a regular basis to assist with cost control and project status.
  • Be able to lead, organize, coach a crew of workers to install equipment as per mechanical drawings.
  • Providing timely updates on progress and forecasting.
  • Preparation of billing material and information for project billing each month to send to accounting team.
  • Processing and pricing of Change Orders for ongoing projects.
  • Working with site team to make accurate schedules and reach project goal deadlines.
  • Travelling to different sites is required.
