OVERVIEW

AWS Plumbing, Heating and Cooling (part of the Par Group) is a leading provider of HVAC solutions for residential and light commercial properties in Long Island and Queens. AWS is currently looking for a Project Manager/Estimator.
The Project Manager/Estimator is responsible for estimating project costs and managing projects from inception to completion. This role ensures that all work is completed on time, within budget, and to company and client standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and has strong communication skills with experience in HVAC, plumbing, and heating.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma required
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience related to the following roles: assistant project manager, junior estimator, project coordinator, project engineer
  • Ability to read and understand plumbing/architectural drawings
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read and understand plumbing/architectural drawings
  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service skills with effective communication and professionalism
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, Procore, Building-Connected, and Drop box
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
Responsibilities

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with project team to identify and complete change orders, submittals, RFI’s, and other project-related documents
  • Manage and control systematic and accurate assimilation and documentation of data, while assuring proper notification
  • Collect and gather supporting data, material breakdown, external vendor quotes based on project specifications, accurate labor rates, explanation of charges, and the estimated time/cost impact for each proposed change order in accordance with job contract and requirements
  • Run daily, weekly, and monthly reports to track the progress of extras
  • Oversee project from beginning to end; quarterbacking all facets of the project with various departments
  • Prepare reports regarding job status and provide support to project managers, field supers, and foremen
  • Support final closeout coordination; obtain missing purchase orders
  • Maintain pending change order log and follow up with client via phone/email; communicate with Vice President and Department Manager via detailed correspondence
  • Assist and perform quantity take-offs, drawing reviews, and comparisons to assist Estimator
  • Perform field visits to coordinate extra work estimates and other project requirements
