POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Project Manager with experience in facilities and pipeline projects, you will lead and manage projects for brownfield and greenfield oil and gas facilities, focusing on engineering or EPC projects. Your role will be to ensure that each project is executed successfully, balancing cost efficiency, constructability, schedule adherence, and quality. We are looking for a seasoned professional with a background in project management on the owner’s side who thrives in a dynamic, solution-driven environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, with a focus on facilities or pipeline projects.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience managing engineering or EPC projects in the energy sector, with a solid understanding of facilities and pipeline operations from an owner’s perspective.
  • Licensing: Must be a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada.
  • Location: Must be currently residing in Canada.

SKILLS & EXPERTISE:

  • Project Management Expertise: Proven track record of managing complex industrial projects, with a deep understanding of the full project lifecycle.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and communication abilities, with the ability to effectively manage teams and build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of industry codes and standards, such as CSA Z662, and familiarity with best practices in pipeline and facilities design and construction.
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in MS Office and MS Project for project scheduling, reporting, and collaboration.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Oversee and manage the entire project lifecycle from initiation to closeout, including schedule development, construction planning, and design coordination.
  • Collaboration & Problem Solving: Facilitate teamwork and foster creative solutions to project challenges. Drive effective communication among engineering disciplines and stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure smooth project execution.
  • Project Planning: Take the lead in upfront project planning, ensuring clear requirements, realistic goals, and alignment across the team throughout the project.
  • Cost & Schedule Management: Monitor and control project costs and schedules, ensuring efficient resource allocation and tracking of earned value management (EVM).
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, actively managing expectations related to cost, scope, schedule, and risk.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and address potential risks, ensuring projects stay on track and in compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Team Development: Provide leadership and guidance to your project team, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring the team’s success.
  • Meeting Facilitation: Lead project meetings with stakeholders, ensuring alignment and clear communication across all parties involved.
