  • Recognised and current qualification in Project methodologies or equivalent skills and experience.
  • Experience and certifications in any of the following (or other recognised accreditation in the same field) are desirable: Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) & Management of Risk (MoR).
  • Experience of working with senior management and stakeholders in large organisations including planning and facilitating stakeholder engagement, collecting and analysing feedback and keeping stakeholders informed of results.
  • Experience of managing concurrent projects including the effective planning and management of project resources.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The role will involve managing projects within the Future Police Estate Programme to ensure that the new facilities meet the operational requirements of the force. Projects will include the fit out of new buildings with furniture and equipment, the relocation of staff from their existing locations to the new buildings and the clearance and decommissioning of vacated buildings.
As a key member of the team, you’ll use your excellent project methodology and communication skills to identify and define requirements, agree and communicate project scope and monitor and track project progress to ensure delivery of the required outputs to the specified quality, on time and to budget.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will:

  • Manage and be responsible for the execution and successful delivery of projects as part of the City of London Police Future Police Estate Programme.
  • Have primary responsibility for ensuring that the project produces the required outcomes within the specified tolerances of time, cost and quality whilst managing the scope and risk to achieve the benefits.
  • Develop, plan and co-ordinate resources for allocated projects.
  • Demonstrate compliance with corporate project management, governance, financial and procurement processes in line with the project procedure and gateway approval processes.
  • Where necessary, facilitate the start-up activity of projects to define scope, goals and deliverables.
  • Prepare and manage project documentation including the project brief, project plans, risk register and produce written highlight, update and committee reports for the relevant governance boards.
  • Develop an effective communications strategy for each project allocated to support the successful delivery of the project and build and maintain excellent stakeholder relationships.
