The Project Manager will lead cross-functional efforts within the J6 Plans Division (J65) to execute IT infrastructure projects supporting U.S. Army Europe’s mission in Ukraine and across Europe. This position oversees delivery from planning through implementation, ensuring projects meet mission needs, schedule, and compliance requirements while coordinating closely with engineering, cyber, sustainment, and partner engagement teams. MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As a Project Manager at GDIT, you will guide projects that directly impact warfighter communications, secure system delivery, and joint interoperability across operational theaters. You will be a strategic integrator ensuring resources, risk management, and requirements are aligned. HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT Lead IT infrastructure, enclave expansion, or modernization projects from planning through execution Develop project plans, schedules, and milestones in coordination with J6 stakeholders and external partners Coordinate resources and task assignments across engineering, cyber, sustainment, and field support teams Track and report project progress, risks, and budget to J6 leadership and government customers Ensure compliance with DoD IT governance processes, including Change Advisory Board and RMF requirements Document requirements, develop work breakdown structures, and oversee contract deliverables Prepare and brief project status updates, risk mitigation strategies, and lessons learned WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED Education: High School Diploma/GED with 10 years of experience, Associate’s with 8 years, Bachelor’s with 6 years, or Master’s with 4 years of relevant IT project management experience Experience: 6+ years leading IT projects within DoD or federal environments, including infrastructure or cyber projects Technical Skills: Strong understanding of project management principles (PMBOK, Agile, hybrid models) Familiarity with Army IT systems, Change Management processes, and RMF; Ability to create schedules (e.g. MS Project), track dependencies, and manage integrated product teams (IPTs) Clearance: Active DoD TS/SCI clearance required Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required ROLE REQUIREMENTS: Experience briefing leadership, preparing reports, and managing project documentation; Ability to interface with technical and non-technical stakeholders across military, civilian, and contractor lines; Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to manage shifting priorities in dynamic environments; Familiarity with Joint or coalition IT integration preferred CERTIFICATIONS: Required: IAT Level II (e.g. Security+ CE); Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, or DAU-equivalent certification PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience supporting USAREUR-AF, theater-level IT programs, or expeditionary communications projects; Familiarity with Army G6/NEC constructs, coalition communications architecture, or enclave expansion programs Background working with requirements analysts and knowledge managers in support of new capability development GDIT IS YOUR PLACE At GDIT, the mission is our purpose, and our people are at the center of everything we do. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
