THE OPPORTUNITY

Manulife is a leader in the Global High-Net-Worth life insurance market with capacity to write insurance on residents in over 150 countries. In 2023, the Global High-Net-Worth Life Insurance Business was formed to leverage Manulife’s enterprise-wide capabilities in serving the High-Net-Worth customer segment. By bringing together Manulife Bermuda with Manulife Hong Kong’s and Manulife Singapore’s International Brokerage Channels, the Global High-Net-Worth business can capitalize on the strengths of the three business units to accelerate growth in the HNW and Ultra HNW markets.
The Project Manager will report directly to the Senior Director of Program Management, be highly visible and critical for the implementation of top priorities to support HNW’s mandate of strategic growth. The successful candidate is highly organized and detail-oriented—able to spot the make-or-break elements that drive success—while also bringing strategic insight and independent thinking to navigate complexity. They will roll up their sleeves and collaborate closely with international cross-functional teams to drive collaboration, execution, and tracking of strategic business initiatives. This role operates in a global context, offering the unique opportunity to collaborate with diverse teams across multiple geographies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other postgraduate degree preferred.
  • Proven project management and delivery expertise, with the ability to lead complex, multi-stream initiatives across teams and divisions. Certifications (e.g., PMP) and familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid methodologies are a plus.
  • Strong financial acumen, including the ability to build business cases, assess cost-benefit trade-offs, and manage project financials.
  • Strategic problem solver with the ability to translate long-term goals into actionable plans and make decisions in ambiguous environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills—able to tackle complex challenges, develop actionable plans, and implement effective solutions.
  • Skilled communicator—able to craft compelling narratives and engage both technical and non-technical collaborators.
  • Effective influencer—able to negotiate, build consensus, and drive outcomes across varying levels of authority.
  • Technology-savvy – Proficient in project management software and tools (e.g., Planview, JIRA), and able to use emerging technologies such as AI-powered assistants (e.g., ChatGPT), Office Suite (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint), and data visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI) to enhance planning, communication, and decision-making.Business insight; knowledge of the international high-net-worth insurance market is an asset.
