POSITION OVERVIEW

OHB Italia is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead complex projects in the field of ground-based optical systems, with a focus on the development, installation, and commissioning of medium size telescopes. The selected candidate will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, ensuring technical and programmatic success while managing all stakeholders and internal resources.

• End-to-end project management for the development, installation, and commissioning of ground-based telescopes
• Planning, coordination, and control of all project phases, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in accordance with technical requirements
• Main technical and contractual interface with the Customer
• Coordination and management of external suppliers and subcontractors for manufacturing, integration, and installation
• Management and alignment of cross-functional internal teams (mechanical, optical, software, electrical, AIV)
• Organization and facilitation of project meetings, technical reviews, workshops, and on-site integration activities
• Definition and maintenance of project schedules (Gantt charts, milestones, resource allocations)
• Cost management: estimation, tracking, variance analysis, and corrective actions
• Risk identification, assessment, and mitigation throughout the project lifecycle
• Management of contractual changes and project modifications
• Monitoring of project progress and performance, with regular reporting to stakeholders
