SUMMARY Ajax Building Company is seeking a Healthcare Project Manager to lead the planning and execution of complex, high-impact healthcare construction projects, including active and occupied hospital environments. This role offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects that require precision, collaboration, and a deep understanding of AHCA regulations and patient-centered construction practices. As a key leader on the project team, you will drive all aspects of project performance—from preconstruction through closeout—while partnering closely with field leadership, subcontractors, and clients. You will serve as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, and engineers, ensuring seamless communication, operational excellence, and successful delivery. This role is ideal for a Project Manager looking to further develop expertise in healthcare construction and take on increasingly complex, high-visibility projects. The Project Manager reports to and is directly accountable to the Project Executive. Projects are based throughout Florida—including Tampa, Orlando, Gainesville, Jacksonville, and Tallahassee—with flexibility to support surrounding regions. This role requires the ability to travel to project sites as needed.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Hire, supervise, evaluate, and reassign duties of assigned personnel, following established company policies, procedures, and practices * Lead overall project execution, coordinating field teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals * Develop and implement project operating procedures to support efficient and effective project delivery * Oversee preparation and management of project budgets and schedules, ensuring accuracy and accountability throughout the project lifecycle * Review project performance reports and proactively manage cost, schedule, quality, and safety to drive successful outcomes * Approve material purchases, equipment rentals, tools, and supplies not included in the original estimate * Act as the company representative in owner and stakeholder meetings, including contract negotiations and issue resolution * Ensure all project activities comply with AHCA requirements and regulations, particularly within active and occupied healthcare environments * Audit project activities from contract execution through warranty to ensure efficiency, profitability, and compliance * Maintain strong relationships with project teams, clients, subcontractors, and design partners * Champion safety, quality, and continuous improvement through active participation in company initiatives, including the Quality Improvement Plan   QUALIFICATIONS * 5+ years of relevant construction project management experience. * Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field.  * Active/occupied healthcare or hospital construction experience. * Working knowledge of AHCA rules and regulations required. * General Contractor License preferred. * Strong understanding of industry practices and trends and their impact on the corporation.  * Advanced interpersonal, communicative, and organizational skills.   ABOUT AJAX Founded in 1958, Ajax Building Company is a leading commercial contractor delivering complex, high-impact projects across the Southeast.
