itD is seeking a Project Manager to lead complex, technology-driven initiatives that integrate intelligent lighting, shading, environmental sensing, and energy management systems across modern building infrastructures. This role will drive the successful delivery of scalable, energy-efficient smart building solutions by overseeing project strategy, cross-functional coordination, and technical execution. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in smart building systems, PoE-powered technologies, BMS/IoT integrations, and a proven track record of delivering large-scale deployments that improve environmental monitoring, occupant comfort, and operational efficiency. Location: San Jose, CA - This role is primarily remote; however, occasional on-site meetings may be required at company offices such as San Jose, and the new Los Angeles location opening in January 2027. Meetings will be scheduled on an as-needed basis depending on project phases. Pay Rate: $58 - 65.65 (hourly) We provide comprehensive medical benefits, a 401k plan, paid holidays, and more. Responsibilities: Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in alignment with business objectives and stakeholder expectations. Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and communication frameworks. Effectively communicate project expectations, milestones, and risks to team members and stakeholders. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on an ongoing basis to ensure alignment and timely execution. Estimate required resources and personnel to achieve project objectives. Draft and manage project budgets, including recommending adjustments as needed. Identify and manage project dependencies, risks, and critical paths. Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate project management tools. Track and report progress on milestones, deliverables, proposals, requirements, and presentations. Proactively manage changes in project scope and develop contingency plans. Build, develop, and maintain key business relationships essential to project success. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and energy-efficient smart building solutions. Internal Responsibilities: Attend regular internal practice community meetings. Collaborate with the itD practice team on industry thought leadership. Complete client case studies, blogs, and other learning materials. Contribute to Digital Transformation practice documentation and resources. Participate in internal itD networking events (virtual and in person). Partner with leadership on career development and fast-track opportunities. Required qualifications and skills Proven working experience in project management. Strong leadership abilities with experience managing and coordinating teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Solid organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail and multitasking ability. Experience with smart building technologies, including: Power over Ethernet (PoE) lighting systems (e.g., Molex CoreSync) integrated with Cisco UPoE+ switches. Mecho PoE Shading systems, including PoE gateways, motor deployments, and SolarTrac integrations. Building Management Systems (BMS) integrated with IoT devices for environmental control. Environmental sensors (CO₂, VOCs, particulate matter, temperature, humidity) deployed via PoE networks. Energy metering and management platforms leveraging PoE infrastructure for sustainability and efficiency. Ability to coordinate secure, scalable, and energy-efficient solutions across lighting, shading, sensors, and energy systems on unified IP networks. Knowledge of IEEE 802.3bt PoE standards and implementation best practices. Familiarity with Cisco secure networking infrastructure supporting Operational Technology (OT) environments. Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 certification (preferred but not required). Preferred qualifications and skills Industry background in smart buildings, IoT systems, building automation, or commercial real estate technology. Previous experience delivering large-scale technology or infrastructure projects. Advanced degree in engineering, project management, or a related technical field. Education Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience required.
