Description Title: Project Manger I Department: Project Management Office Reports to: Operational Efficiency and PMO Manager Location: Prince George, VA (hybrid 3 days on site) Travel Expected: Limited expected at no more than 10% Position Summary The Project Manager I is an early career role responsible for supporting the coordination and execution of technical research projects at CCAM. Under the supervision of the Operational Efficiency and PMO Manager and guidance of senior project staff, this position assists with project scheduling, documentation, procurement, and communication. It is ideal for candidates beginning their careers in project management or transitioning from technical or related roles. Key Responsibilities Assist in creating and maintaining project schedules, task lists, and reports Support meetings by preparing agendas, taking notes, and tracking action items Coordinate logistics for internal and external meetings, workshops, and tours Maintain documentation related to project plans, partner agreements, and reports Assist in creating project tracking tools and templates for project management Track project procurement, invoicing, and budgeting activity in collaboration with finance Monitor project timelines and escalate potential risks or delays to senior PMs Promote the use of standardized project management practices and tools across CCAM CCAM is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. Requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in related field 0–3 years of experience in project coordination, project administration, business analysis or research support Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Outlook, Excel, Word) Strong organization and time management skills Ability to work collaboratively and communicate clearly with technical teams This position requires access to technology or intellectual property that is subject to export control requirements. Candidates must be qualified for such access without an export control license. Preferred Qualifications Exposure to research or engineering environments (through coursework or internships) Familiarity with project tracking platforms (e.g., Smartsheet, Microsoft Project) Manage project size up to 150K per project Basic understanding of procurement, budgeting, or contract tracking CAPM certification, Google Certification in Project Management, or related project management training
